I’ve just heard about Visaswap.

It sounds like a great idea. Basically it’s one big clothes swap that runs in London once a year (or maybe more, not sure).

It’s like the kind of home clothes swap events we often suggest you do – it’s in this article on living on nothing and in this article about saving money and saving the planet.

The way Visaswap works is that you sign up (I’ve just registered – it’s free) then they let you know when the next event is.

You go along to the first part with your old clothes and accessories and they give you points for each item: a few points for a Primark item but hundreds for a Vivienne Westwood, for example.

Then they give you a ‘credit’ card that is loaded up with points and they take your clothes.

Then, later (they will tell you when) you go along to the ‘swap’ event with your card full of points. You get to see all the clothes and accessories that are there and you can ‘buy’ them with your points.

It sounds excellent. A journalist I was talking to last week said she got loads of stuff with her points including a Fendi bag, Versace jeans, dresses, tops, a belt and so on.

I don’t know when the next one is but if you sign up you will be told.
