I applied for a loan with the Alliance and Leicester recently. (on the internet)   Unfortunately I was declined.   They said they would pass on my details to suitable lenders who may be able to help.       I had lots of emails and the phone never stopped with offers of firms offering me to help with debts for money. I recieved a phone call on the same day (Friday) from the Loan people) after a discussion( with them mentioning the more I searched for credit , the worse my credit score would be)  they said they could offer me a loan, not for  the five grand I asked for but, for 3000.  I could have the money in my bank by Wednesday at the latest if I paid 50 quid  over the phone off my card,to get it quick.  I thought about it and rang them on the M onday  my laon had been approved they would send me forms to fill in.   After waiting a week for this form it arrived only to say and I quote.," I am writing to inform you that although originally you met the criteria with the lender and were approved in PRINCIPLE for the loan they have now unfortunately declined your application"       I telephoned trading standards and was told there is nothing I can do, untill 6 months time. Then write to them and ask for 45 quid back as they keep a fiver for admin.  (they would have that in interest.)             PLEASE be very careful, I usually am but been forced into a desperate situation with rising costs , my gas and electic are costing me 60 quid a week (I am on meters) I am on benefits through no fault of my own, and I am struggling unfortunately lots take advantage of others situations.
