Question     Surveys online
Dotted Line

Hi to everyone

Thinking of doing some surveys online.  Has anyone done any, any advice, pitfalls etc. Can you make any money for them.  Are they worth it.?????

Has anyone had any experience on doing anything on line to earn extra cash?

Do they work?

Hi,

I am in lots of survey companys.  I've probably made between £150 - £200 over about 4 years of doing them so dont be thinking you'll make a fortune out of it.

The best ones are yougov, ciao, opinionbar, valued opinions & American Opinion Panel.  Just google them and register with them all.

On Ciao you can write reviews about products you've bought & make some more money that way.

Online surveys are not a good way to make money.  They often have a very limited target and pay very little, sometimes only 10p.

HI

I am registered with about 5 different ones but they pay 'pennies' unless you sit all day doing them its not really worth it, some only offer free entry into a prize draw.  Also you will not be eligible for some of them.  I have made about £20 in nearly two years and some of them wont pay you until you have reached £20 so don't give up the day job!

Someone else may know better, if so let us know.

Everything that has been said with regard to surveys and "not giving up the day job"  is absolutely right. They are a good "add-on" to your income - for example I do Juicy Brains surveys  (occasionally - they don't email me often) and I quickly got up to £5 - which is paid in Amazon vouchers - no problem getting the voucher it was emailed to me in hours and I used it towards a birthday present for someone.YouGov don't have many surveys - but do pay out cash in the form of a cheque (when you reach £50 - may take some time!) and Lightspeed send out more surveys (in my experience) but I have yet to cash in any earnings so I can't say how easy that will be.I have also come across a survey site just for students - they give £10 (in Amazon vouchers) just for registering, but I have heard that they don't pay out until £25 and that could take a while as they don't send out many surveys! No personal experience of that one.More info here

I'd certainly agree that surveys can't replace a full time income, but they can certainly add a small but steady extra income, particularly if you fit the right demographics. Most of the bigger companies are looking for home owning full time employees or self-employed people, or the main shopper/cleaner in such a household especially if there are young children in the household. They also tend to like Sun readers. I personally earn about £50 a month plus a regular supply of products to test (usually cleaning products and foodstuffs, not high value products). I recommend any beginners start with one of the free survey directories that categorises sites by country (I use whichsurveys.com) and work through the list as and when you get the chance. The bigger, more active companies are usually listed first. I'd also recommend downloading free tool Roboform to autocomplete your applications and remember all your log-in details. Most survey directories also offer a few pages of advice for beginners.

Hi everyone, Well, after six months on  Toluna, Ciao, Lightspeed Panel and MySurvey, I've cashed in my points and am receiving three OCUME~1MARAPA~1LOCALS~1Tempmsohtml11clip_filelist.xml" />

10 vouchers for Amazon (my choice) and OCUME~1MARAPA~1LOCALS~1Tempmsohtml11clip_filelist.xml" />

₤5.50 into my bank account. It may not mean much to some, but it means I can treat myself to a new cd, book or dvd and not feel guilty about taking the money out of my wages. Happy surveying!
