One of the many advantages of writing this blog is that I sometimes get sent free stuff! The vodka cocktails from Rocktails.co.uk are the latest, and they just had to be tested. With my husband out, the nanny and I decided to have some with our Aubergine Parmigiana, with the kids, at 5pm on a Friday afternoon. Hey, it works for me. They come in a pouch, frozen into a slush, which you keep in the freezer. We split a passionfruit one (125ml pouch). Mmmm. passionfruit are my favourite fruit of all, closely followed by pineapple, so I really lucked out. It was totally fresh and tangy, not at all artificial-tasting.

A tiny word of warning: the thing about vodka/fruit combinations, I find, is that they just taste like fruit juice and you feel you could go on drinking them forever. Fortunately we didn’t have that option (we only had the one) but it was yummy! The blurb that came with it says “free rocktails to be had online” so check it out. Evelina and I decided they’d be quite nice if you were going out and you wanted to have a drink with girlfriends as you got ready, to put you in the party mood. Well, we just loaded the dishwasher and tackled the task of getting the kids in the bath. But it took the edge off Friday night parenting.
