Tug Toy Joy

What a fantastic bank holiday weekend we had at Tatton Park near Knutsford in Cheshire.  We used the space to launch some of our new products, Billy No Mates natural flea treatment (who wouldn’t want to buy it with a name like that) and Grizzly salmon oil.
All the products got a warm welcome, especially [...]

Debt – the last taboo

I’ve said it before (here) and I’ll say it again (oh yes I will, don’t try to stop me)…we have a completely weird attitude to money and particularly to debt in this country. We will talk on TV in front of millions about every sexual partner we’ve ever had but clam up if anyone asks [...]

Internet business

If you spend any time on internet discussion boards (such as the new ones we have set up) you will love this video that I’ve just seen. It shows what a boardroom discussion would sound like if everyone spoke in ‘internet speak’. Hilarious. Check it out.

Internet searches
Gift aid

Sorry I have been gone for ages, it’s not like I’ve been slacking, lounging by a pool somewhere hot, under a glorious blue sky while someone plies me with cool drinks and tweaks my sun umbrella a couple of inches every time the sun creeps round a bit.  Although my entire being aches at the [...]

Student money-making

It’s the student season suddenly. The moment the A level results come out everyone is talking about students and their debt (mainly). I’ve been asked to quote twice already on it and the subject is not going to go away – not for a few years to come I think.
When I think back to my [...]

Recycle, make money

Anyone I know who is 30+ remembers taking empty bottles of ‘pop’ back to the shop and getting a few pennies in return. It was one of the joys of childhood – picking up small change for free from the bottles your mum gave you and then using it to buy sweets.

So the news is mixed – repossessions are up (bad news) but debt arrears are down (good news). Still more and more bankruptcies and IVAs (bad) but fewer compared to the beginning of the year (good). Mind you, the main reason for the drop seems to be that creditors are less keen to accept IVAs [...]
