November is nearly over and December 1st is fast approaching. If you’re looking for a fun and cheap way to get your kids excited for Christmas, we have the perfect DIY project for you and it involves A LOT of empty toilet rolls.
Advent calenders don’t have to be all filled with chocolate (especially for young children). They can also contain fun bits and bobs, quotes, letters, etc. to give them a personal touch.
We’re showing you how to make your own DIY toilet roll advent calender.
For this fun craft project you will need:
- 24 toilet rolls
- 24 small gifts that’ll fit inside a toilet roll
- Tissue paper
- Elastic bands
- Small cardboard box
STEP ONE: Find an empty box that will fit 24 toilet rolls.
STEP TWO: Cover each toilet roll with coloured tissue paper and secure an elastic band around each one.
STEP THREE: Pop a present, joke, game or filling of your choice in each toilet roll. To make the advent calender more personal you could even fill each one with a nice note or quote.
STEP FOUR: Stuff some newspaper in the open end of each roll to avoid anything falling out and then arrange each one in any order you like.
STEP FIVE: Once all 24 rolls are in the box number each one from 1-24.
STEP SIX: Now all that’s left to do is enjoy your creation each day in the lead up to Christmas!
