You are here: Home > About us
Moneymagpie is the country's leading site for safe and legitimate money-making opportunities.
We have up to date information on hundreds of ways to earn a bit on the side and boost your income - and more are being added every week.
But there's no point in earning extra money if you're wasting it elsewhere, so we also have a wealth of information on best-buy financial products, plus heaps of articles to help you be a clever consumer and make the most of your money.
The site is completely free to use, and we are pleased to welcome more new readers every week.
Who we are
Moneymagpie was set up in April 2007 by journalist and TV personality Jasmine Birtles.
Because we are an independent site, everything we write is carefully researched and aimed at helping you find the best money-making opportunity, or the best deal, for you.
How we are funded
Some companies give us money if we send customers to our websites. You can see which links may help the site in this way, as they are in bold. However, the things we write are NEVER influenced by these links - we recommend the companies that we think give the best deals, regardless of whether or not we may earn anything from it.

If you have a general question or want to share your experiences, please try posting your comments on our messageboards first – it’s free to register and leave a message.
Use the form here to contact Moneymagpie – messages are checked regularly. We cannot give out individual financial advice and, owing to the volume of emails received, are not able to respond personally to all queries.
If you are facing bankruptcy and need information urgently, please see our debt article, 'Don't despair'. Remember there is help available - much of it free. We've added lots of advice to Moneymagpie in the Get out of debt section, as well as the details of free and impartial debt advisers .

Jasmine's biog lists her qualities as follows: finance journalist, expert, author, humorist -tall, leggy and blonde, smart and engaging with a great personality, a good ear and a keen sense of humour.
If all "experts" were like that, afternoon television might actually be worth watching.
Seriously though, Jasmine has built up a strong reputation as a TV presenter and journalist specialising in business and personal finance. She regularly appears on GMTV, This Morning, Sky News, BBC Breakfast, and many other TV shows, and is the regular money-making expert on Five's The Wright Stuff. Recent radio appearances include Jeremy Vine's and Chris Evans's Radio Two shows, FiveLive and TalkSport. She is also the author of 36 books, including A Bit on the Side: 500 Ways to Boost Your Income and The Money Book: Control Your Money, Control Your Life.

Moneymagpie has loads of information to help you lead a richer life including lots of case studies about Britons making the most of theirs. Here are a few you might relate to:
