Here’s our top money saving tips for festivals from Benicàssim to Boardmasters
Festivals can be expensive. The cost of the ticket, the tent, the equipment, and not to mention the booze can all add up.
So we expect many festival goers will be looking for ways to save money while there? After all, no one wants to come back to an empty bank balance.
So luckily for you, we have enlisted expert advice from Jasmine Birtles, founder of MoneyMagpie.com, on top ways to save cash this festival season. Here she shares her money saving tips on how to reduce your costs before the festival and whilst you’re there.
Get tickets early or pay in instalments
Most festivals offer cheaper early bird tickets, many of which are on sale as soon as the previous year’s festival ends. Try buying your tickets in advance to get the biggest savings.
Take advantage of ticket deposit schemes – many festivals offer deposit schemes that allow you to pay for your ticket in instalments. This is a great way to lock in lower ticket prices when the first batch of tickets are released.
Protect yourselves against thieves
Protect yourself against theft. Taking huge amounts of cash at festivals could make you a target for pickpockets, especially in crowded areas.
An increasing amount of festivals are now even going cashless, Boardmasters are working with Visa to have 100% card acceptance to the festival for the first time in its 36 year history.
