Can your enthusiasm for health become a career?

Reading Time: 2 mins

Who doesn’t want a job that they’re passionate about? It’s what most of us dream of finding. If you’re the kind of person who’s always looking at ways to improve their regime, changes they can make to their diet, and healthy habits to pick up, then you might just be able to turn that passion and energy into a career. Here, we’re going to look at some of the options out there you might want to consider.

Working in care

As we live with an increasing aging population, it’s no surprise that many of us are wondering about whether or not we look after our elderly properly. Working in care, wth the old and those living with a disability, is a highly demanding job. It involves taking care of such daily needs as washing, eating, transport, and bathroom use. However, there is constant demand for new caregivers.

Working in fitness

Feel like you’ve developed the insight and the experience of maintaining your own health well enough to coach others to do the same? There are a range of ways to help people improve their fitness for a living, such as running a fitness course at the same or becoming a coach. However, for a career that offers the most comprehensive opportunity to help improve lifestyle all-around, personal training courses are an essential step. You can get a career as a personal trainer without the right certification, but few professionals are as relied upon when it comes to fitness.

Working in nursing

It’s important to know what you’re getting into when you choose nursing as a career. The field is turbulent right now, due to a greater reliance on nurses working through recruitment agencies, rather than for specific practices. However, nursing can be very rewarding for those who have the compassion and patience for it. Of course, you’re still going to need a nursing qualification to go with that. Nursing also offers a lot of career growth opportunities, as you may specialise or climb up the ladder into more administrative and managerial positions.

Working in health writing

Making money as a health writer is not easy. Often you need a career such as one of those mentioned above to lend you the clout necessary to gain an audience. Otherwise, you need to look at ways you monetise your writing. You may be able to get paid to write content for another publication, but there is also the option of starting your own blog and monetize it, whether that’s by selling informative ebooks, running ads on your site, or working with an affiliate marketing company. You may also specialise as a health copywriter, creating press releases and marketing content for businesses in the health industry.

There are many more careers that could utilize your passion for health and fitness, including physiotherapy, selling health foods, coaching at a school, and much more. Consider where your passion for health and wellbeing really comes from, and find a career that speaks to that for a more fulfilling path.
