‘$aving the Nation’ – Money expert, investor and author, offers flash sale on best-selling personal finance book ‘FR££DOM’ to help UK adults achieve financial freedom

To mark one year since its launch, ‘FR££DOM: Earn It, Keep It, Grow It’ will be available on Amazon for just 99p

‘FR££DOM: Earn It, Keep It, Grow It’ is a best-selling personal finance book packed with practical advice and actionable strategies, written by money activist and financial expert Rob Gardner. To mark a year since its launch, and in light of last week’s news that nearly half of UK adults have failed ‘the big three’ financial literacy questions used by the Global Financial Literacy Excellence Centre1, Rob Gardner is offering his best-selling personal finance book for 99p on Amazon on for one week starting Friday 19th July.

FR££DOM was written to empower readers to take control of their finances, achieve financial freedom, and understand how to use their money to have a positive impact on the planet. The book is usually £16.99, with proceeds from every sale going to RedSTART, the financial education charity that Rob co-founded.

Saving the Nation: Today nearly 24million UK adults have poor financial literacy2, a systemic problem stemming from the fact that in the UK, we neither have adequate financial education, nor feel comfortable talking about money. In fact, a quarter of UK adults would rather talk about almost anything else – infidelity, abortion, parenting techniques – than their finances. It’s a cycle we need to break, because it results in many adults not understanding the basics of money management, a trend being passed down to future generations. In fact:

  • The average UK adult is in £34,000 worth of personal debt3
  • A quarter of UK adults say they use credit cards to cover their costs of living4
  • Seven out of 10 UK adults do not have a savings account5
  • One in four UK adults have savings of less than £1006
  • Only one in 10 UK adults feel they understand investing7
  • One in five UK adults do not have a pension, or have nothing saved in their pension8
  • UK adults with good financial literacy, have £20,000 more on average in their pension and are more likely to have a pension in the first place.9

Rob Garder’s life’s work has been to help millions of people, from school children, to investors, through to pensioners, achieve financial freedom in a world worth living. Because he knows it pays to understand your finances, he will be selling FR££DOM for 99p for one week only, to help support that mission.

Changing your financial habits can feel daunting, but even the seemingly smallest changes can add up over the long term, if you keep up the good habit. In fact, had you bought FR££DOM a year ago and adopted some of its principles, today you might have:

  • Saved £100 a month by cancelling unused subscriptions or memberships.
  • Accumulated £1,700 towards your first home deposit by swapping your £4 daily latte habit (or another small vice). If saved in a Lifetime ISA (LISA), this could have grown to £1,700. How does it add up?

£1,200 in savings.
£300 government bonus (25% from LISA)
£200 from investing in a diversified global equities portfolio.

  • Even with an average annual return of 7%, over a decade, these small changes could be worth £60,000 towards your home deposit:

£40,000 from savings.
£10,000 in government bonuses.
£10,000 from investment returns.
Small habits have a big impact! Start today and let your money grow for you.

Rob Gardner, author, and money activist, says: “FR££DOM: Earn It, Keep It, Grow It’ is your roadmap to financial freedom and a call to action to use money as a force for good. Believe it or not, the key to financial
freedom is less about how much you earn, and more about knowing how to keep and grow what you already have. Understanding these three key principles will help you manage your money and make better long-term financial decisions. What’s more, by adopting simple yet powerful financial habits and considering the impact of our choices, we can create a prosperous future for ourselves and our planet.”

‘FR££DOM: Earn It, Keep It, Grow It’ is available in print from Amazon, and has been published by Rethink Press, 2023.
