How to de-clutter your home broadband

De-cluttering can come in many forms, from cleaning out your closet, to organising your office or even streamlining your household outgoings.

If you’re looking to de-clutter your bills this month, switching your broadband provider could be a great place to start. On average 41%* of Brits stay with their home broadband provider for at least four years, with many consumers signing up to long-term contracts and ‘broadband bundles’ that include television packages and landlines – which increasingly go unused and continue to go up in price year on year**. Research recently carried out by USwitch also found that by switching your broadband deal you could save on average £9.80 a month. You can compare broadband deals on sites like broadband.deals

Relish home broadband easy setupRelish broadband – London’s wireless internet provider – is on hand to help with the de-cluttering process, with useful tips and hints on how you could streamline your broadband deal and cut down on unnecessary expenditure.

Broadband without line rental

Relish Home Broadband - declutter your broadbandDo you know what your landline number is? Research carried out by Relish in 2016 revealed that one in five Brits don’t have a clue – plus a third of us only use our home phone once a month or less. For many households the landline phone has become a redundant piece of technology and a fifth of the British public think we’ll be landline free within two years, if not sooner***.

If your home phone is gathering dust, getting rid of it and opting for broadband without line rental could be a great way to de-clutter your home this March and save money in the process.

TV or Netflix?

Research agency Childwise recently revealed that the amount of time we watch television has reduced dramatically, especially among children and young adults, with 60% of kids now watching TV via their smart-phone, tablet or laptop.

If a television is not a necessity for your family, or perhaps you’re a student living in halls, cutting out a television package from your broadband contract may be a great way to not only save on space but money too. Look out for unlimited broadband deals, which will give you enough data for all your streaming needs.

“One way of de-cluttering your monthly outgoings is to switch internet providers. Many consumers sign up to ‘broadband bundles’ and end up paying for a landline and television package that goes unused. If you don’t use your home-phone to make calls and watch most of your favourite shows on Netflix, doing away with ‘bundles’ and opting for a broadband only package can help de-clutter your bills and save you money.

Additionally, many consumers are put off switching internet providers by the thought of being without internet for weeks on end and miss out on significant savings. Relish offers same day delivery (for a one off £20 delivery fee) or free next day delivery, getting you online quickly and hassle free.” Bridget Lorimer, Head of Brand and Consumer Marketing – Relish
