My daughters are trying to cut down on chocolate because the older one has discovered she gets spots when she eats too much. So, a savoury snack is called for. I spotted Mr Filbert’s Pocket Roasted Mixed Nuts and Mixed Seeds (what a mouthful). The girls first made lots of “Eeuuww” noises, reading the labels: Herb Roasted, Chilli Roasted, Sea Salt & Herb, plus Chilli & Fennel didn’t grab them. BUT they decided that “although they sound gross, they’re awesome”. Praise indeed!
They’re £1.50 for 50g, which is a good price for a snack to keep you going till the next meal I think. The seeds include pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds and pine kernels, and the nuts peanuts, almonds and cashews. They’re one of nature’s healthier snacks WHICH WILL ACTUALLY SUSTAIN YOU. An apple is fine but you’ll be hungry again an hour later. Nuts contain protein, fibre, magnesium, vitamin B6, zinc and vitamin E.
They’re also hot-air roasted, not fried, which is always good.
