TGI Friday’s….good for any day of the week

TGI Friday'sHaving not visited TGI Friday’s for a good few years, I was unsure what to expect when venturing to the popular chain restaurant in London Leicester Square at lunchtime, especially taking into account that this restaurant would be one of the new styled TGI Friday’s and have a new menu.

TGI Fridays Review

Fortunately I needn’t have worried.

Upon entering I noticed that the restaurant was fairly busy so I wondered whether we would have to wait to be seated. Despite this, we were seated swiftly next to a window, although our view left a lot to be desired!

After some chit chat with my eating companions and getting our drinks it was time to order our starters. I went for loaded potato with bacon but NO cheese. Due to my allergies I had to make this abundantly clear to our waiter Phoebe (or Bibi? I could not make out her name on account of the bustling, good natured atmosphere inside the restaurant) who took my allergies all in her stride and with a smile.

Our starters came without my stomach grumbling for too long and having never had this starter before, I was pleasantly surprised. They were very good! Looking back I only wish I had ordered more, despite the mains coming.

It looked delicious! I can confirm that it tasted delicious too.  My only regret is that I didn’t order another one.

While the price of the food was not exactly cheap, at the end of the day you have to take into consideration the fact that we were slap bang in the middle of London where food is not renowned for being cheap, plus the great atmosphere, wonderful service and fantastic food more than made up for the price.

Whether you’re old or young, work in the city or merely a student, TGI Friday’s is perfect for anyone, whatever the day and whatever the occasion, especially if it’s your birthday!
