MoneyMagpie’s ULTIMATE Gift Guide for Pets

The ultimate autumn pet gift guide: cosy coats, clever gadgets and treats they’ll love
From a camera that captures your dog’s adventures to warming winter coats, delicious treats and clever grooming gadgets, we’ve rounded up thoughtful gifts for pets and the people who adore them.
Autumn is one of my favourite times of year to be a pet owner. There’s something wonderful about pulling on your wellies, heading out for a crisp morning walk with the dog, then returning home to warm up while your four-legged companion claims the best spot on the sofa.
Of course, the season brings its challenges too. Muddy paws, wet coats, darker evenings and the inevitable trail of fur across the furniture are all part of the package.
But whether you’re shopping for your own pampered pooch, treating a cat who already rules the household or looking for a thoughtful present for an animal lover, there are some genuinely useful products out there.
We’ve picked a mixture of affordable treats, practical gadgets and a few bigger indulgences. Because at MoneyMagpie, we think the best pet gifts are the ones that make everyday life a little easier, rather than something that ends up forgotten at the bottom of the toy basket.
Clever gadgets for curious pets and their owners
NOERDEN PetPOV HD Camera Collar
RRP £49.99
Ever wondered what your dog actually gets up to when they’re exploring the garden, or where your cat disappears to on their daily adventures? This clever little camera lets you see the world from their perspective.
It records 1080p video with a 170-degree wide-angle lens, has a built-in screen for playback and offers up to 120 minutes of battery life. A lovely gift for curious owners, although it records footage rather than providing a live GPS tracking service.
NOERDEN Trimmy Portable Pet Groomer
RRP £29.99
Autumn walks can mean muddy paws and plenty of grooming afterwards. This compact cordless trimmer is designed for tidying fur around delicate areas, including paws and facial contours.
It offers two grooming modes, including suction-assisted trimming to collect loose hair, and a rechargeable battery. Particularly useful for owners who like to manage small grooming jobs between professional appointments. Introduce it gradually to nervous pets, and avoid trimming close to the eyes without professional guidance.
Treats worth getting excited about
Skinner’s Dog Treats
Price varies by variety and pack size
Autumn is a brilliant time for longer walks and a little extra training, and having a pocketful of treats can make all the difference.
Skinner’s offers a selection of dog treats that are handy for rewarding good behaviour, practising recall or simply making your dog feel appreciated. Choose smaller pieces for training and remember to account for treats in your dog’s daily food allowance.
Pooch & Mutt Jerky, Pigs in Blankets and Advent Calendar
RRPs to confirm by product
There’s no reason humans should have all the fun when it comes to seasonal snacks. Pooch & Mutt’s treats are a lovely way to include your dog in the festivities, with jerky-style options for everyday rewards and seasonal products such as pigs in blankets and an advent calendar.
The calendar would be an especially sweet early Christmas gift for a dog-loving friend, while the treats are ideal for a festive stocking. Always check ingredients and feeding guidance, particularly if your pet has a sensitive stomach.
For autumn walks and outdoor adventures
ACME Alpha Dog Training Whistle
Price: Around £12.50
For dogs who love exploring the countryside, a reliable recall whistle can be a genuinely useful addition to their walking kit. The British-made ACME Alpha has a comfortable grip and is designed to produce consistent, clear signals, even over longer distances.
It’s a particularly thoughtful present for someone working on their dog’s recall, although the whistle still needs to be introduced through reward-based training. At around £12.50, it’s an affordable gift with a practical purpose.
Dryrobe Dog Coat
RRP: Confirm by size
There’s something wonderfully appealing about a dog having a proper outdoor coat, especially when it’s in a gorgeous autumnal burnt orange.
The dryrobe Dog is designed to help keep dogs warm and protected after wet walks, swims and outdoor adventures. Its practical appeal is obvious if your dog regularly comes home soaked, particularly when you’d rather not have them drying themselves against the sofa.
Choose the size carefully, allowing freedom of movement and checking the fit around the chest and neck. It’s a lovely premium gift for a dog who spends plenty of time outdoors.
Toys for rainy afternoons
Nylabone Blue Swirl Double Action Bone
RRP: £10
When it’s pouring with rain and even the dog seems reluctant to leave the house, a good chew toy can be a welcome distraction.
This Nylabone combines different textures to offer dogs an engaging chewing experience. It’s a sensible little gift for dogs who enjoy chewing, although you’ll need to choose the correct size and chewing strength, supervise use and replace it when worn.
At around £10, it’s also an easy addition to a pet-themed gift hamper.
Nylabone Advent Calendar
RRP: To confirm
For owners who love counting down to Christmas with their pets, a dog-themed advent calendar is a fun seasonal extra. Nylabone’s advent offering is worth looking out for, particularly if you’re buying for a dog who enjoys chew toys rather than edible treats.
Check the contents, size suitability and current seasonal availability before purchasing.
Harris Tweed Square Dog Bed
RRP £175
Even the family dog deserves a handsome spot to settle, and this Harris Tweed® Square Dog Bed delivers exactly that.
Made with genuine Harris Tweed® handcrafted on the islands of Harris and Lewis, this bed is a testament to Scottish textile heritage. Generously cushioned it offers a cosy place for your furry friend to curl up while the raised sides provide a cocooning effect for ultimate comfort.
Petface Toyz Rope Ball Tugger Dog Toy – GO Outdoors £6.99
£6.99
Keeping your dog entertained doesn’t have to mean spending a fortune on expensive toys. The Petface Toyz Rope Ball Tugger is a colourful addition to your dog’s toy collection, offering a great excuse for a game of tug-of-war and some energetic playtime.
It’s particularly handy during autumn, when shorter days and unpredictable weather can make those long outdoor adventures a little less appealing. A few minutes of interactive play can help keep your dog occupied while giving you both some exercise.
Petface Reflective Flashing Dog Collar – GO Outdoors
£8.99
With the evenings getting darker, keeping your dog visible on autumn and winter walks becomes increasingly important. This bright yellow reflective flashing collar from Petface is a practical accessory that can help your dog stand out when you’re heading out after sunset.
Combining reflective material with a flashing light, it’s particularly useful for owners who walk their dogs early in the morning or after work, when daylight is in short supply.
It’s also a relatively inexpensive way to add an extra layer of visibility without replacing your entire walking kit.
Paraffle Craft for Cats Collection
Not every pet-related present needs to be something your pet can chew, chase or curl up on. Paraffle’s Craft for Cats collection offers a lovely alternative for people who adore their feline companions and enjoy getting creative.
The collection features cat-themed craft projects, making it an appealing option for a cosy autumn afternoon or a thoughtful Christmas present for the cat lover in your life.
There’s something particularly satisfying about giving a gift that provides an activity as well as a finished creation. Rather than another novelty mug or ornament, a craft kit offers the opportunity to unwind and make something personal.
Clare Balding’s Unconditional Love dog grooming range
Price: £9 for sprays, £12 for shampoos
Clare Balding’s Unconditional Love dog grooming range includes gentle shampoos and no-rinse sprays designed for dogs’ sensitive skin and sense of smell. The vegan, cruelty-free collection is a lovely option for keeping your dog fresh between baths, particularly after those muddy winter walks.
Kavee guinea pig accessories
From £14.90
Kavee offers colourful, practical accessories for guinea pigs, including its Foraging Flower (£14.90), cosy Tunnel (£24) and washable Cloud Fleece Liner (from £29). They’re a great way to make your guinea pigs’ home more comfortable while encouraging natural behaviours such as hiding and foraging.
The Catnip Queen cat toys
From £11.31; Designer Clutch £13.50
For the cat who has everything, The Catnip Queen makes quirky toys filled with organic catnip and silvervine. The Designer Clutch (£13.50) is a playful handbag-inspired toy, while the Royal Catch fish (£11.31) is another fun choice. There’s also a Designer Clutch and Catnip Spray bundle for £19.75.
Groov-e Smart WiFi Pet Feeder
Price: £46.99 at Currys
This smart feeder is ideal for busy cat and small dog owners who want to keep mealtimes regular. It connects to a smartphone app, allowing you to schedule up to ten meals a day, and has a four-litre airtight food container to help keep dry food fresh. It also features personalised meal calls and dual power options, making it a practical addition to your pet care routine.
£34.99, 300g
Combining 18 active ingredients to provide nutritional support across nine areas of canine health, including gut health, immunity, joints and mobility, and skin and coat, CAN9 is designed to make looking after our dogs’ everyday wellbeing simple. The formula can be added directly to their usual food once a day, and the brand is supported by an advisory team that includes veterinary surgeons and a pet nutritionist.
A little MoneyMagpie advice before you buy
Five ways to make pet gifting better value
-
Choose practical products your pet will use throughout the year, rather than seasonal novelty items.
-
Compare prices between retailers, particularly for gadgets and premium coats.
-
Check the cost of replacement parts, grooming accessories and batteries.
-
Look for multi-buy offers on treats you already know your pet enjoys.
-
Don’t forget that enrichment can be inexpensive: hiding a few treats around the house or making a simple scent game can be just as exciting as a new toy.
Ultimately, our pets don’t care whether their presents come beautifully wrapped or cost a fortune. They’re much more interested in the walk, the game, the treat and the attention that comes with them.
And perhaps that’s the nicest thing about autumn with animals. Whether you’re heading out into the leaves or settling down together after a rainy afternoon, it’s the little rituals that make the season special.
