Best money-saving fashion websites
Stay stylish on a budget with our ten best money-saving fashion websites. We’ll show you how to hunt down the latest sample sales, where to snap up fashion freebies and where to find the best places for vintage bargains. Plus check out our favourite members-only websites for exclusive designer discounts.
We all love high street staples like Miss Selfridge, Urban Outfitters and Oasis, but if you want to search the sales without all the hassle then go online. By checking out the sale section of each site you’ll be able to pick up loads of great deals for next to nothing, all from the comfort of your own home!
Check out Miss Selfridge, Boohoo.com, Yumi Direct, Urban Outfitters and Secret Sales for ongoing discounts.
2. Hire your style
If you’ve got a big do coming up, or you just want to look fabulous for a night, but you can’t afford a new designer dress then head to GirlMeetsDress where you can hire dresses by Herve Lerger, Mui Mui, Stella McCartney and more for a fraction of the price.
Finish the look with the latest designer handbag from FashionHire where you can rent a Gucci, Chloe, Louis Vuitton or Fendi bag at an affordable price. All the bags are 100% genuine designer. Membership is £9.95 a month and hire starts from around £10 a month. Handbagsfromheaven, MyCelebrityDress and Cinderella-me works in a similar way
Found any more great moneysaving fashion websites? Post them in the comments below, or let us know on our Facebook page.
Accessories are the key to updating your look without having to splash out on an entirely new outfit. Mytights.co.uk has an amazing selection of tights to suit every occasion – from your everyday basic tights, to crazy prints and luxury hosiery. Keep track of the top 10 sellers if you need some inspiration.
4. Member’s only websites
There are a growing number of these member’s only websites which offer access to designer clobber with impressive discounts. Brand Alley and Cocosa are both well worth checking out as they sell excess inventory and end of season stock for leading designer labels so you won’t necessarily get the latest lines but you’ll be saving yourself a wad of cash. Be warned, however, they do tend to send a lot of emails so set up a separate email account if this bothers you.
5. Swap Shop
This is a really great way of updating your wardrobe without spending a penny! You can even host your own
party from the comfort of your own home. Simply go through your wardrobe and pick out any clothes you no longer wear, ask your friends to do the same and bring them all together to swap them with other people!
For an even wider range of outfits why not attend one organised by Swishing, or check out BigWardrobe where you can buy, swap and sell clothes to other users.

6. Celeb style on a budget
A
sos is the UK’s large online fashion and beauty store, and it’s not one to miss if you’re looking for high street, designer and independent fashion for men and women. There’s usually a sale on – at the moment you can get 70% off loads of great labels. Plus if you’re a student you can get 10% off across the site.
The Outnet (sister site to Net-A-Porter) features discounted clothes and shoes from big designers like Alexander McQueen and Jimmy Choo. If you’re the type of person who’d rather invest in a few top quality pieces, rather than lots of cheaper bits then this is the site for you! Prices aren’t rock bottom by any means, but the discounts are still incredible. Register now.
8. Charity shop chic
Scouring through the rails of charity shops in posh areas is the easiest way to find the best clobber. Find all the second-hand shops near you here – just click on your region and it will bring up a list of shops near you. Londoners should also make the most of the top 20 second-hand/thrift stores in London according to Time Out. Shop online with Oxfam, they’ve got everything from books to bridal wear.
Online vintage shops are ten a penny, but some are better than others so it’s wise to stick with reputable sites. We like AbsoluteVintage which offers detailed descriptions of the items
Other sites we like are Marthascloset.co.uk and Pretaportobello (which features the wares from West London’s Portobello Road market). LoveMissDaisy sell lovely vintage pieces from dress to shoes and bags, but they also sell vintage 1940s and 1950s wedding gowns which are absolutely beautiful, and cost a fraction of the price of a new dress.
10. Sample Sales
You can find some incredible bargains in sample sales – the trick is finding out where they are. This is where sites like DailyCandy come in – they’ve got a full list of sample sales coming up so you know exactly when and where you need to go.
Also, keep an eye out for The Designer Sales, held over three days, once a month in Islington, London. They sell catwalk one-offs and showroom samples with at least 60% off.
Also, try Samplesaleslondon.co.uk and Designersales.co.uk too – it’s worth checking regularly on all of these sites to make sure you don’t miss out as they really do offer some amazing deals.

Hello,
