I have been furloughed , i am receiving 80% of my basic wage, however usually if I am in work I would receive commission for sales and appointments, should this not be included in my wages while being Furloughed?

You would think that your average commission could be taken into consideration, yes, but according to the Government website, it can’t. Here is what it says:
For full time and part time salaried employees, the employee’s actual salary before tax, as of 28 February should be used to calculate the 80%. Fees, commission and bonuses should not be included.

Jasmine’s right – and this ruling puts a lot of people on a lower furlough pay than they expected. Unless your contract guarantees a certain bonus, commission, or overtime each month, your employer can only use the base salary rate 🙁
If this leaves you a tad short for the next few months, check out our Make Money section – lots of ideas to make some extra cash on the side 🙂

April 22, 2020 at 11:05 #150982AnnieKeymasterHi Hannah,
Your contributions are covered on the scheme, so you won’t miss those payments. Employers also have their mandatory amount covered, too – but if you or they pay more than the minimum required, it’s up to you/them to pay them.
Employers who pay above the minimum will have to make these payments, but the pensions regulator has agreed flexibility on when these payments are made (to give struggling businesses a breather). They’ll have to pay in the full amount owed, but you might see a drop for a couple of months until they make the full payment due.
April 23, 2020 at 06:05 #151000AileenParticipantThank you both. It does say in my contract I will get paid £5.00 for every appointment and if it sells another £5.00 . I will have a look at the make money section.
Thanks Again.
