I was speaking at a crypto event earlier this week and we talked about CBDCs – Central Bank Digital Currencies.

Everyone needs to know about these because our government – particularly Rishi Sunak – want to introduce them and I believe they would destroy our human rights and give government and the Bank of England complete control over what we earn and particularly over what we spend.

CBDCs are digital only, they will get rid of cash, and all transactions will go through the central bank. Because they’re digital they will be tracked and monitored by the central bank (government) and they will be able to tell us what we can and can’t spend our money on. So if they want us to stop travelling they will just programme the money to make sure you can’t spend it at airports and stations etc.

Do have a look at the articles we’ve got about this – this one for example – https://www.moneymagpie.com/manage-your-money/what-are-cbdcs-and-why-should-you-be-worried

I hope physical money continues to exist.

Yes I agree. It’s up to us to keep using it and making a fuss in shops that don’t take it.

I use the checkouts at supermarkets rather than the self-service machines. I usually use cash there too. They need to see that we are using it and don’t like to see it go!
