What better way to celebrate International Women’s Day than to tell you about some of the best podcasts about money and finance presented by women?

Lots of women tell us that they find the subject of money off-putting and don’t feel confident talking about their finances. We aren’t taught about how to manage our money at school, so a lot of the words used when talking about financial stuff can sound like jargon (and sometimes even gibberish).

Women often have different needs and a different approach to finance from men, which is another reason why it’s important to have these female led podcasts.

Here at MoneyMagpie, we believe that the best way for women to be financially savvy and to have financial freedom is to understand how the economy works, how to save, how to invest and how to spend. Podcasts are a great way of finding these things out. They are free, easy to access and so convenient. You can dip in and out at your leisure and learn as much or as little as you need.

When it comes to financial podcasts presented by women, there are so many to choose from so we’ve picked our favourites for you. Of course, we happen to think that our own podcast is really rather good so we’ll start there…

How to be a moneymagpie

Our podcast, How to be a MoneyMagpie, is presented by our CEO Jasmine Birtles, a money expert and one of the best known woman in the financial sector. (You can read more about Jasmine here.) In our podcast you can get top tips on how to start investing, save money, and earn extra cash on the side. In the latest episode Jasmine interviews Martin Bould from Little Bird to find out how we can all save on subscriptions and regular services we pay for.

Money 101 with Bea Duncan

If you want to go on a journey of financial discovery with someone who is learning at the same time, Money 101 is for you.  Bea Duncan is the best travel companion. She wants to educate herself and her listeners by explaining the jargon and clearing up all the confusing terms.  She chats to experts and real people about everything from credit scores, to how much you should be saving and how to set up a pension.

Her Money with Jean Chatzky

Jean Chatzy believes that women deserve financial advice that is aimed specially at them. Advice that recognises our unique situations and needs. In Her Money, Jean takes a frank and often funny approach to teaching women about money. She is really good at explaining what we need to know clearly and with compassion. She’ll sum up the latest research, offer expert tips and personal advice.

Money Clinic with Claer Barrett

Claer Barrett is the Financial Times’ money-making expert. In her Money Clinic she answers questions from a range of guests and gives advice on everything from how to tackle the cost-of-living crisis to how to be confident investing. Every episode is packed with information, really useful tips and ideas about how to make the most of your money.

It’s not about the money

Female finance

It’s not about the money is hosted by Catherine Morgan who is a qualified financial planner and money coach. Her podcast is aimed at female entrepreneurs wanting to learn better money management, how to be financially resilient and how to cope with financial stress.
