Black Friday 2026: We’ve found bargains from £3.33 – but experts warn shoppers not to get caught out

Black Friday might still be a few weeks away, but some of the UK’s biggest retailers have already started cutting prices, and you don’t need hundreds of pounds to get involved.

From a kitchen bargain costing just £3.33 to half-price beauty gifts and affordable Christmas presents, there are already some interesting deals appearing at Argos, Boots, Superdrug and other major shops.

However, with household budgets under pressure and Christmas approaching, the last thing anyone needs is to spend money on things they weren’t planning to buy simply because they’ve been labelled a bargain.

This year, Black Friday falls on Friday 27 November 2026, with Cyber Monday following on Monday 30 November. Some retailers have already started their promotions, giving shoppers weeks to compare prices rather than rushing to buy everything on one day.

We’ve picked out five affordable shopping deals, highlighted beauty products worth watching and looked at whether Amazon’s cupboard essentials could save you money. We’ve also examined what consumer experts are warning shoppers about this year.

Our top five affordable Black Friday bargains for 2026

These are some of the early offers worth checking. The crossed-out prices below are retailers’ advertised previous prices, rather than independently verified RRPs or typical selling prices. Prices and stock may change.

1. Pyrex square glass air fryer dish – Argos

£3.33
Was £5.00

Advertised saving: £1.67 (33%)

A useful little kitchen purchase if you already own an air fryer. It’s designed for cooking and serving smaller portions, although you’ll need to check that the dimensions are suitable for your particular appliance.

At just £3.33, it’s one of the lowest-priced early offers we’ve spotted.

2. The White Collection Pomegranate Hand Duo – Boots

£4.50
Was £9.00

Advertised saving: £4.50 (50%)

If you’re looking for inexpensive Christmas presents or stocking fillers, this could be worth considering.

Boots has advertised the Pomegranate Hand Duo at half its previous price, bringing it down to £4.50.

It’s the kind of small gift that could help spread the cost of Christmas without spending a fortune.

3. The White Collection Winter Spice Botanical Candle – Boots

£6.00
Was £12.00

Advertised saving: £6.00 (50%)

A seasonal candle can make an affordable Christmas gift, particularly if you’re buying for a friend, teacher or colleague.

This 580g Winter Spice candle has been advertised at half price by Boots.

4. L’Oréal Paris Men Expert Alive & Kicking Gift Set – Boots

£11.00
Was £22.00

Advertised saving: £11.00 (50%)

Another affordable Christmas present to consider is the L’Oréal Paris Men Expert Alive & Kicking Gift Set.

Boots has advertised it at £11 instead of £22, making it worth comparing with other grooming gift sets.

As with any gift set, check the contents and product sizes before buying.

5. Black + Decker Mouse Sander with accessories – Argos

£18.00
Was £28.00

Advertised saving: £10.00 (approximately 36%)

If you have a home improvement project planned, a discounted tool could be a useful purchase.

This Black + Decker Mouse Sander, supplied with accessories, has been advertised at £18 rather than £28.

However, only buy it if you have a genuine use for it. Even a £10 saving isn’t worthwhile if the tool ends up sitting unused in a cupboard.

MoneyMagpie’s standout affordable bargain: £4.50 beauty gift

Our favourite inexpensive gift pick is the Pomegranate Hand Duo at Boots, advertised at £4.50 instead of £9.

It’s a manageable price for a planned Christmas present, and a much more accessible purchase than the expensive gadgets often dominating Black Friday coverage.

However, remember that a half-price label doesn’t necessarily mean a product has never been cheaper.

Two bigger Black Friday bargains worth considering at Superdrug

If you’ve got a little more to spend on Christmas presents, Superdrug has two particularly eye-catching reductions on electrical grooming products.

The Braun Series 5 Electric Shaver is advertised at £54.99, down from £135.99, representing a saving of £81. It’s a practical gift for someone who needs a new electric shaver, rather than another novelty present destined for the cupboard.

Meanwhile, the Oral-B iO3 Matt Black Electric Toothbrush with Travel Case has been advertised at £54.99 instead of £159.99, a saving of £105. However, compare prices before buying, as electric toothbrushes are frequently heavily discounted throughout the year.

Both offers are worth investigating, but remember that a large advertised percentage reduction doesn’t automatically mean you’re getting the lowest price available.

Black Friday beauty deals 2026: What should you look out for?

Beauty is one of the categories worth watching this Black Friday, especially if you’re buying products you already use or getting ahead with Christmas presents.

Boots has been advertising discounts on skincare, fragrance and gift sets, while Superdrug’s Black Friday promotions are scheduled to run from 4 November to 1 December.

Here are some of the beauty offers worth comparing.

Beauty product Advertised previous price Sale price Advertised saving
White Collection Pomegranate Hand Duo £9 £4.50 50%
White Collection Frosted Fir LED Candle £15 £7.50 50%
L’Oréal Men Expert Gift Set £22 £11 50%
Olay Regenerist Face & Neck Serum £37.99 £18.99 Approximately 50%
La Roche-Posay Hyalu B5 Serum 30ml £45 £33.75 25%

These are early advertised prices reported for November 2026. They are not guaranteed current stock prices or independently verified historical lows. Check exact sizes and promotional conditions.

Beauty bargains: Don’t be fooled by the gift-set value

A beauty gift set advertised as containing £100 worth of products isn’t necessarily worth £100 to you.

Check whether the contents are full-sized, whether you actually use the brands included and how much the individual products cost elsewhere.

For skincare, compare the price per 100ml. For perfume, check the bottle size and whether you’re buying eau de parfum or eau de toilette.

Other beauty brands worth watching as Black Friday approaches include Maybelline, Garnier, No7, Elemis and ghd. However, don’t assume that every branded promotion represents a genuine bargain.

Amazon Black Friday 2026: The cupboard essentials worth stocking up on

Black Friday isn’t just about Christmas presents and beauty products. One of the most practical ways to save money could be stocking up on everyday essentials that you know your household will use.

Amazon sells groceries, toiletries and cleaning products in multipacks, but the trick is making sure the bulk price really is cheaper than buying the same items at Tesco, Aldi, Lidl, Asda or another supermarket.

Here are the products we’d recommend watching when Amazon’s main Black Friday promotions begin.

Cupboard essential Brands to watch What to compare
Tea bags Yorkshire Tea, PG Tips, Tetley Price per 100 bags
Instant coffee Nescafé, Kenco, Douwe Egberts Price per 100g
Baked beans Heinz, Branston Price per tin
Pasta and rice Napolina, Barilla, Tilda Price per kilogram
Tinned tomatoes Napolina, Mutti Price per 400g tin
Dishwasher tablets Fairy, Finish Price per tablet
Laundry detergent Persil, Ariel, Surf Price per wash
Toothpaste and toiletries Colgate, Oral-B, Dove Price per item or 100ml

These are products to watch, not confirmed Amazon Black Friday reductions. We haven’t assigned RRPs or savings because specific discounted multipacks haven’t yet been verified.

MoneyMagpie tip: Check the real price per item

A pack of 48 dishwasher tablets for £12 works out at 25p per tablet.

A supermarket pack of 30 tablets for £6 costs just 20p per tablet.

Despite the larger Amazon pack, the supermarket option would actually be cheaper.

The same principle applies to coffee, washing powder, rice and practically anything sold in bulk.

Compare Amazon prices

Should you use Amazon Subscribe & Save?

Amazon’s Subscribe & Save scheme can offer discounts on eligible repeat purchases, but that doesn’t necessarily make it the cheapest option.

Compare the final price with supermarket offers, check the delivery frequency and review the cost before each repeat order. Prices can change, and it’s easy to accumulate products you don’t need.

For pantry essentials, only stock up on items with a sufficiently long shelf life, and make sure you have somewhere suitable to store them.

What are the experts warning about Black Friday 2026?

Here’s something that might make you think twice before buying anything this November.

Research published by consumer organisation Which? in November 2025 examined 175 products sold during Black Friday 2024.

It found that 83% were available at the same price or cheaper at another point outside the four-week Black Friday sales period.

When Which? looked specifically at Black Friday itself, every product it examined had been available for the same price or less at some other point in the surrounding year.

That doesn’t mean Black Friday is a waste of time. It means shoppers should be particularly careful about accepting a retailer’s claimed savings.

Consumer experts recommend resisting urgency-driven marketing, checking historical prices and researching purchases rather than rushing to checkout.

Three free tools that could save you money

CamelCamelCamel: Tracks Amazon price histories so you can see whether a product was cheaper previously.

PriceRunner: Compares prices across different retailers.

PriceSpy: Helps you investigate price histories and compare current offers.

Use these before making an expensive purchase or ordering a large multipack.

Seven ways to avoid overspending on Black Friday

It’s easy to feel that you’re saving money when everything in your basket has a discount attached. But several small purchases can quickly add up.

Our seven Black Friday shopping rules

  1. Make a list first. Decide what you actually need before browsing the sales.
  2. Set a spending limit. Work out what you can afford after bills and essentials.
  3. Check the original price. Look beyond the RRP and find out what the item normally sells for.
  4. Compare retailers. Don’t assume Amazon or any other shop has the lowest price.
  5. Wait 24 hours. Give yourself time to reconsider non-essential purchases.
  6. Watch delivery charges. A £5 bargain isn’t quite so attractive with £4.99 postage.
  7. Be careful with Buy Now, Pay Later. Spreading payments doesn’t make the purchase cheaper, and missed payments can have consequences.

The £100 Black Friday trap

Imagine you spot five products advertised at half price, each costing £20 instead of £40.

The retailer might tell you that you’ve saved £100.

But if you weren’t planning to buy any of those products, you’ve actually spent £100 you could have kept in your bank account.

That’s why the most useful question to ask yourself isn’t how much am I saving? but would I have bought this anyway?

Should you wait until Black Friday itself?

With some retailers already running sales, you might be wondering whether to buy now or wait until 27 November.

Unfortunately, there isn’t a guaranteed answer.

Argos, Boots and other retailers are launching offers throughout November, while Amazon’s main sale is expected closer to Black Friday.

If you find something you genuinely need at a competitive price, there’s no reason to assume it will be cheaper on the day itself.

Equally, don’t panic if an offer expires. Research from Which? demonstrates that many discounted products are available at similar or better prices at other times of the year.

One last thing: Don’t forget your rights

When buying online from a UK business, you generally have 14 days after receiving most goods to cancel your order, with some exceptions.

You also have statutory rights if goods are faulty or not as described.

Check returns policies carefully, especially when buying cosmetics, personalised gifts or products from third-party marketplace sellers.

Black Friday 2026: Frequently asked questions

When is Black Friday 2026?

Black Friday falls on Friday 27 November 2026, although several UK retailers have already started their sales.

When is Cyber Monday 2026?

Cyber Monday is Monday 30 November 2026.

Are Black Friday deals really cheaper?

Some are, but not all. Research from Which? shows that many products are available at the same price or less at other times of the year.

What are the cheapest Black Friday bargains?

Some early advertised offers start at £3.33, including the Pyrex air fryer dish at Argos. Boots has also advertised beauty and gift products for under £10. Prices and availability should be checked before ordering.

Is Amazon cheaper than supermarkets on Black Friday?

Not necessarily. Compare prices per item, kilogram or litre, especially when buying groceries, cleaning products and toiletries in bulk.

What is the best way to avoid overspending?

Make a shopping list, set a budget and check historical prices. Avoid buying something simply because it has a large percentage discount.

The MoneyMagpie verdict

Black Friday 2026 could be a good opportunity to save on Christmas presents, beauty favourites and household essentials, particularly if you focus on affordable products rather than expensive gadgets.

We’ve already found several interesting advertised offers for less than £20, but the most important thing is to check that the original price represents a genuine saving.

And when it comes to Amazon cupboard essentials, don’t forget that supermarkets may still be cheaper, even when Amazon advertises a substantial discount.

Ultimately, the best Black Friday bargains aren’t necessarily the ones with the biggest reductions. They’re the products you already need, bought at prices you’re happy to pay.

Because spending £20 to save £20 only makes sense if you were going to spend that money in the first place.

Prices and promotions were researched for 4 November 2026 and may change. Always confirm the final price, seller, availability and terms before purchasing. Advertised previous prices are not necessarily manufacturers’ recommended retail prices.
