Broadband is one of the essentials for modern day life and the UN even considers internet connection as a basic human right.

We need it for education, work, entertainment and everything in between, so it’s important that you take advantage of Christmas offers to find the perfect broadband and TV packages for you at the best price.

To make life easy, we’ve ordered our top 5 by the total amount that you’ll have paid by the duration of your contract.

Read on to learn about some of the deals that we have noticed.

Sky Fibre Max + sky entertainment

One-off cost: £19.95

Contract: £45 per month for £18 months

Total over first 18 months: £810.00. A quick note on the Sky deal – you may be thinking, ‘Yikes! The others aren’t this expensive!’ In which case we should draw your attention to the fact that this is for an 18 month contract, and the previous four are for 12 months each. This is also for broadband with TV instead of just a broadband deal. (Although it is still quite expensive.)

Details: This fibre optic broadband deal is their fastest yet, boasting an average download speed of 63Mb/s and available for unlimited monthly usage. They also have a speed guarantee, offering a full refund if it drops past the minimum in the first 30 days. This would be great for large households where many are using the internet at once, or if you’re into box sets and online gaming marathons.

Included: Line rental, Sky Talk, and over 300 entertainment channels with Sky TV

Available for: New Sky Fibre customers living in the Sky network area. Fibre broadband is not yet available nationwide, but check out TechRadar’s postcode search to find whether this includes you.

It is also worth reviewing speed, most times promised speed is not what you get.

It can be a bit of a minefield trying to find the right provider, so it’s good to have all the info in one place.
