Is it really possible to see a West End Show for £10? In short, yes! Next January & February performances have gone on sale for this incredible price. Now on sale here.

There is something so magical about theatre. I remember the very first time I went.

My mum had managed to get us cheap tickets to see The BFG as part of the kid’s book group we were in, and we had got them for a very reasonable price. I watched in awe as the giant’s huge shoes made their way onto the stage. Everything about it was awe-inspiring: the costumes, the orchestra, even the plush velvet seats made me feel like a Victorian aristocrat. But, the one thing that lacked in that first performance, was the BFG’s actual head. The tickets had been so cheap that we were in the gods, on a level with the horizon, meaning his head was decapitated.

As a young wide-eyed novice, I had believed that this was to express his magnitude; an artistic choice to show how giant he really was. It was only years later when my Mum told the story over dinner, that I discovered it was in fact unintended and merely due to the low price of our tickets. This is because, in those days (the early 90s) cheap theatre tickets were essentially non-existent. It pre-dated the The Official London Theatre New Year Sale. Something which now makes decent seats accessible to all.

The Official London Theatre New Year Sale is now open, returning for its 21st year to offer theatre fans over 100,000 tickets for over 45 of the capital’s best loved shows at the unbelievable prices of just £10, £20, £30, £40 and £50, for performances between 1 January and 29 February 2024.
