Do you have an interest in beauty and fashion? Have you ever considered becoming a stylist?
If you’re looking to earn some extra cash to supplement your current salary, or want a career developing your own distribution network, check out MyShowcase.
It’s been described as “Space NK meets Avon” and is great if you’re looking for flexible work that you can do from home in your spare time.

Basically you join up and become a Stylist.
As a Stylist you host parties and sell beauty products and make a commission on everything you sell.
Then if you recruit new Stylists you can earn a commission on what they earn too.
Nancy explains: “MyShowcase sells independent beauty brands in the comfort of a social event be it at your own house or a friend’s house.
“We gather together the best products from independent beauty brands and best selling labels. Apart from being a money spinner, it’s a great way to discover some new products.”
To become a Stylist, you sign up and pay £99 for a starter pack that contains £400 worth of products to use at Showcases (basically social shopping sessions).
You don’t need to buy stock. This is sent straight from the warehouse, when you place the order.
After that you’re given training on how to use the MyShowcase website to plan your Showcases and you get ongoing support with technology and marketing.
- Stylists can earn commission ranging from 15% for new starters to 30% as you sell more.
- When you recruit other Stylists, you earn commission on their sales too.
- Already some of their Stylists are earning an extra £10,000 per year and it’s expected that you can earn up to £40,000.
Myshowcase is a great way to make money with makeup, but there are other ways to make money if you don’t want to commit.
For example, if you have a blog or a website, you could make money by joining an affiliate site and linking to makeup products from your articles and posts (although your readers won’t appreciate it if you bombard them with links, so choose your products carefully.)
You could also make videos and become a vlogger (that’s video blogger for those not in the know), reviewing makeup products. It’s not easy to cut it as a vlogger but once you start building a bit of traffic you’ll be able to monetise your videos and you might be able to bag some freebies from companies who want you to review their products.
Oh, and speaking of freebies, we recommend you keep an eye on Toluna as they often have beauty goods which they offer as test products. Simply sign-up for free and you’ll be able to get some makeup goodies to test when Toluna offer them.
Which of these money making ideas are you going to try? Let us know by leaving a comment – we love to hear from you.
