Money Giveaway: The cost of living crisis is really getting people down now. With a record number of people taking on second jobs and people frantically googling ‘quick ways to make cash’, we at MoneyMagpie have again decided to put our hand in our pocket and offer some help to readers.
Last year we offered you all a chance to get your hands on a no strings attached free £5 and over 300 of you entered.
Therefore we are again offering 20 readers £5. There are no strings attached at all. Simply comment on the article with what you would spend the fiver on, and then in two weeks, 20 people will be selected to win the money.
MoneyMagpie founder Jasmine Birtles says: ‘It really doesn’t feel much in the greater scheme of things, but if it helps a few people then we are more than happy to step in. We have had a record number of people writing in and asking us how to access quick cash, and in reality there aren’t many ways that are safe to the consumer. Therefore we just wanted to offer them a chance. We are strongly against gambling so didn’t want our readers to go there, therefore it’s simply cash.’
So, as stated above, for your chance to get your hands on a fiver, just answer ‘what would you spend an extra fiver on this month?’ in the comments below. The comments will close at midnight on August 1, 2023.
We will notify the winners on August 2, 2023.
Good luck. We look forward to hearing your answers.
I would use it to buy ingredients to make some soup for some needy families who live nearby
I have a teenage son who thinks I’m a money tree so no doubt he would end up with it and buy chocolate and sweets, which would in turn save me a few pounds 🙂
Would use it to contribute to grocery shopping – essentials like tea, long life milk, cereal, tins to have supplies in place to cover the winter months
I would buy some donations for the local food bank.
My neighbour is selling a slow cooker for £5. I could use this and batch cook to reduce my fuel costs
Given a free £5, I would pass this on to Marie Curie Nurses charity and match it with £5 out of my own pocket. These nurses perform an amazing essential job in providing care and comfort to ‘end-of-life’ patients and their families, so every penny they can secure in their charity helps to provide their time, skills and devotion at a most important time in a life. If that was your life, wouldn’t you want that care and comfort?
Congrats! You’re one of our lucky winners. Please can you reply with your email address and we will email you about your prize.
I would spend my fiver on ingredients to make a delicious winter stew!

it would go straight on my gas meter give mr few nights heat
I would buy a treat for my kids!
