Money Giveaway: The cost of living crisis is really getting people down now. With a record number of people taking on second jobs and people frantically googling ‘quick ways to make cash’, we at MoneyMagpie have again decided to put our hand in our pocket and offer some help to readers.
Last year we offered you all a chance to get your hands on a no strings attached free £5 and over 300 of you entered.
Therefore we are again offering 20 readers £5. There are no strings attached at all. Simply comment on the article with what you would spend the fiver on, and then in two weeks, 20 people will be selected to win the money.
MoneyMagpie founder Jasmine Birtles says: ‘It really doesn’t feel much in the greater scheme of things, but if it helps a few people then we are more than happy to step in. We have had a record number of people writing in and asking us how to access quick cash, and in reality there aren’t many ways that are safe to the consumer. Therefore we just wanted to offer them a chance. We are strongly against gambling so didn’t want our readers to go there, therefore it’s simply cash.’
So, as stated above, for your chance to get your hands on a fiver, just answer ‘what would you spend an extra fiver on this month?’ in the comments below. The comments will close at midnight on August 1, 2023.
We will notify the winners on August 2, 2023.
Good luck. We look forward to hearing your answers.
One of the premium meal deals from Sainsburys for lunch when I am in the office
I would use the money, to buy myself a small treat. I deserve it. Rosemary
I would use it to help my Dad pay for parking when he has to shop; his choices are being further reduced by his Council installing pay machines that require an App, but he does not have a mobile or other device. So he has to travel further and pay more if finds a car park that will take cash or at worse, a card.
I would use the money to buy a small food treat for my husband,
£5 would give me nearly 5 days food.
I would definitely use it on my weekly shop and buy one of those little treats that I haven’t been able to afford for a while, as essentials have taken priority. Something like a box of eclairs to share over a coffee.
Some fresh fruit, probably some strawberries or cherries
I would use it to buy proper Birds Eye fish fingers for the family rather than the budget value ones. A good treat.
A birthday card for my nephew and postage stamp
£5 would provide me with a voucher for my local Food Pantry. You can get two items of toiletries and eight items of food. Working out at 50p per item. It has been a lifesaver for me.
