If you are in the event planning industry, you know that finding the best venue to rent for a particular event might be the most dreadful task. Some venues are too big, some are too small, some are far away from the city, some are in the middle of the highway – it seems as if there is something to be talked about for each one of them. But, on top of everything and most importantly, some of them are crazy expensive.

So, finding a venue that fits both your needs, and your budget is undoubtedly a bit of a task. However, it is not impossible to plan a budget wedding and if you are in the quest for a venue that doesn’t break the bank, then you have landed on the right page. In this article, you will find tips and tricks, strategies and methods on how to work things out when it comes to finding a venue. Let’s dive right in!

Venues for weddings

Weddings are some of the most special and important events in people’s lives. Because of that, the bride and the groom pay special attention when looking out for one. Although it might be difficult to accommodate each and every desire that a person has, budget is a big thing for everyone involved, so that should definitely be a priority to be taken care of.

But how can I find a venue for my wedding that won’t cost me a fortune? Surprise, surprise – that is actually possible! The first step is to look out for venues that might not be that popular. Remember – you are looking for something that fits you – not others. So, consider other unconventional settings as well, such as your backyard, a nearby park or a botanical garden. (Pssst, this last option is extra cutesy if you are someone that loves greenery).

The other piece of advice is to consider having your wedding on specific days that do not interfere with other events. For instance, there is a seasonal peak during the summertime for wedding venues, particularly on the weekends. So, if you are flexible about the timing of your wedding, then definitely take advantage of it.

Venues for music concerts

Booking a venue for music concerts is not as flexible as wedding venues. First, if you are planning the event in one specific city, then the venue has to be as central as possible. In addition to that, it has to be as big or as small as you expect the audience to be. Needless to say, bigger and central venues cost more money.

The price for music concert venues also depends on the city where the music concert is to be held. For example, planning music concerts in Las Vegas and trying to find the best Las Vegas music venues at a reasonable price is quite a hassle. On the other hand, if you are planning the event to occur in another random city, such as Monroe in Louisiana, then the probability is much higher.

In both cases, don’t go for the big names. You can definitely find a nice music concert venue that might not be that famous but is just as good as the famous ones. In either case, negotiate the price as much as you can, and particularly if the music concert you are organizing is not on the weekend or during the summer season.

Venues for corporate events

Venues for corporate events are also quite popular, especially when it comes to big companies. Usually, big companies organize an event at least once a year for all its employees to attend, and it is usually at the end of the year to celebrate the success they have had during the year. In such cases, hotels and conference centers are the most common choice among event planners.

To save up money in such cases, you are advised to consider booking a hotel in your area and not another city or another country. It is understandable that once you decide to organize something outside of your area, then you also have to consider the costs of traveling, be it cars, trains or planes. However, that can be eliminated as an expense if you organize the corporate event within your area.

Another tip for corporate events is to consider the time of the event. If you plan the event in the morning or in the evening and only book the space for that particular time, it is going to be way more affordable than booking the space for the whole day. Apart from that, if you usually book the same space from time to time, you can also consider reaching a long-term agreement with them to have the space available for you at the same time annually. This way you can negotiate a lower price as this is also conventional for the venue owner/s.
