Looking for the cheapest place to buy Halloween sweets in 2026? We’ve checked prices at Tesco, Aldi, Lidl, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, Asda, Iceland, Home Bargains and Poundstretcher to find where you can get the most trick-or-treat sweets for your money.
Halloween can be an expensive night for households that end up answering the door to a steady stream of trick-or-treaters. A couple of bags of sweets might not sound like a big expense, but the bill can quickly climb if you want enough treats for dozens of children.
The good news is that there are some genuinely cheap Halloween sweet deals around for 2026 – including big branded bags for under £4, seasonal tubs for £3.69 and Halloween-themed sweets for less than £1.
We’ve compared the latest prices and loyalty-card offers, but importantly we’ve also looked at how much sweet you actually get for your money. A cheap-looking £1 packet isn’t necessarily better value than a much larger £3.99 bag.
Prices checked: 6 October 2026
Prices and availability can change, particularly for seasonal Halloween products. Loyalty-card prices require the relevant supermarket membership, so check the live price before making a special journey.
Home Bargains currently has the strongest big-bag deal we’ve found.
Its Haribo Megastar 800g costs £3.99, working out at just 49.88p per 100g.
That’s cheaper by weight than Tesco’s £4.50 Clubcard price for an 800g Haribo Starmix Megabox and Aldi’s £3.69 600g Halloween Sweet Tub.
| Retailer | Deal checked | Price | Value | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|

| Tesco | Haribo Starmix Megabox 800g | £4.50 Clubcard | 56.25p/100g | Big branded bag |
| Aldi | Halloween Sweet Tub 600g | £3.69 | 61.5p/100g | Halloween-themed tub |
| Morrisons | Swizzels Trick or Treat Lolly Mix 330g | £2.50 More Card | 75.8p/100g | Individually wrapped treats |

| Poundstretcher | Monster Mix Sweets 150g | 99p | Listed at 99p | Discount-store wildcard |
Home Bargains wins our current price-per-100g comparison with Haribo Megastar 800g at £3.99 – equivalent to 49.88p per 100g.
This is a good example of why it pays to compare unit prices rather than simply choosing the packet with the lowest price. Our regularly updated guide to the cheapest supermarket in the UK explains how dramatically the result can change depending on what is actually in your basket.
Tesco is already offering some strong Halloween deals, particularly for Clubcard members.
The standout is the Haribo Starmix Megabox 800g, currently £4.50 with Clubcard rather than £5. That works out at 56.25p per 100g.
Tesco also has a Haribo Sharing Tub 600g for £4 with Clubcard, compared with £5 without the card.
For a smaller Halloween-themed purchase, Haribo Bone Shakers 160g are £1 with Clubcard, compared with £1.25 normally.
There is also a Haribo Fruitilicious 20 Mini Bags multipack weighing 320g for £2.35 with Clubcard.
Aldi is one of the strongest options if you want sweets that actually look like Halloween treats rather than simply buying a standard sharing bag.
The Halloween Sweet Tub 600g costs £3.69, giving a mix of gummy skulls, bats and ghosts.
Aldi also has several Halloween products costing less than £1, including its Halloween Mallow Bag at 99p and Gummy Brains & Fizzy Spiders at 99p for 160g.
Other seasonal options include Chocolate Bats at £1.99 for 100g and Halloween Munch Mix at £2.29.
If you want a proper Halloween bowl without spending much, the £3.69 600g Halloween Sweet Tub is the standout.
Lidl is also using its Lidl Plus loyalty scheme for Halloween discounts.
Current Halloween offers include a Spooky Jelly Mix for £4.24 with Lidl Plus, down from £4.99, plus Choco Lollies for £2.28, down from £2.69.
Lidl’s Chewy Sweets and Sweets and Lollipop Mix are both £5.09 with Lidl Plus, compared with £5.99.
There’s also a Cadbury Treat Size Sharing Selection for £2.45.
Morrisons has some particularly useful deals if you want sweets that can go straight into a trick-or-treat bowl without having to portion them yourself.
The Swizzels Trick or Treat Lolly Mix 330g is £2.50 with More Card, down from £2.75.
The mix contains individually wrapped Drumstick lollies, Monster Double Lollies and Fruity Pops.
Morrisons is also selling Haribo Sour Skeletons 160g for £1, down from £1.25.
Another strong More Card option is the Swizzels Superstars Tub 630g for £3.50, which works out at 55.6p per 100g.
Sainsbury’s is another supermarket where the loyalty-card price can make a significant difference.
The Haribo Starmix Mini Bag Multipack contains 22 x 16g bags and is £2 with Nectar, compared with £3 without Nectar.
That works out at roughly 9p per individual mini bag.
Sainsbury’s also has Maltesers 11 x 18g fun-size bags for £3.50 with Nectar, down from £4.90.
For straightforward sweets, Haribo Tangfastics 175g are currently £1 and Haribo Starmix 175g are also £1.
For households expecting lots of children, the 22-bag Haribo multipack at £2 with Nectar is particularly convenient because the sweets are already portioned.
Asda’s current Haribo Trick or Treat 40 Spooky Mini Bags contains 40 individual mini bags and weighs 640g.
The current online price is £4, equivalent to 10p per mini bag or £6.25 per kilogram.
That’s worth considering if you want the convenience of individually portioned sweets rather than a large sharing bag.
Asda also has cheaper own-brand Halloween snacks, including Horror Emporium Sour Scream Monster Bites at £1 and Horror Emporium Kreepy Ketchup Monster Claws at £1.
Iceland is worth checking if you only need a few bags of Halloween sweets rather than a huge bulk purchase.
Current Halloween listings include Haribo Sour Skeletons 160g for £1 and Haribo Bone Shakers 160g for £1.
There are also themed options such as Barratt Flumpkins Sour Pumpkin Shape Vanilla Marshmallows for £1 and various £1 Halloween sweets.
For a bigger purchase, Iceland has a Haribo Starmix Party Box 800g for £5, although that isn’t as cheap per 100g as Home Bargains or Tesco’s current bulk deals.
The big supermarkets aren’t automatically the cheapest place for Halloween sweets. Discount retailers are particularly interesting this year because some of their prices compete directly with supermarket loyalty offers – without requiring a loyalty card.
Poundstretcher currently lists several Halloween confectionery products at 99p, including:
There is an important catch: some of these products are showing as unavailable online. We would therefore treat Poundstretcher as a store-level bargain to check rather than promising readers they can definitely order these products online.
Haribo Balla Bites 140g for 99p is particularly interesting because it’s a branded sweet for under £1. Check local availability before making a special trip.
Home Bargains is arguably the most interesting retailer in the whole comparison because its current prices compete directly with supermarket loyalty-card offers.
Its Haribo Megastar 800g is £3.99, compared with £5 normally. That works out at just 49.88p per 100g.
There is also an 800g bag of Haribo Jelly Babies & Wine Gums for £3.99, again working out at 49.88p per 100g.
If you want individually portioned sweets, Home Bargains has Skittles Fruits 18 Fun Size Bags, 324g, for £2.29.
Its Halloween-specific range includes Haribo Sour Skeletons 160g for 99p, Haribo Bone Shakers 160g for 99p, Hallow Scream Body Part Platter Gummies 290g for £1.99 and Hallow Scream 4D Gummy Pumpkins 120g for 99p.
At 49.88p per 100g, the £3.99 Haribo Megastar 800g is currently the best value-by-weight branded sweet deal we’ve verified in this comparison.
It depends on what you’re buying.
Home Bargains currently comes out on top. Its Haribo Megastar 800g is £3.99, equivalent to 49.88p per 100g.
Tesco’s £4.50 Clubcard Haribo Starmix Megabox works out at 56.25p per 100g, while Aldi’s £3.69 Halloween Sweet Tub works out at 61.5p per 100g.
Aldi is a strong choice if you specifically want skulls, bats, ghosts and other Halloween shapes. Its 600g Halloween Sweet Tub costs £3.69, while its Gummy Brains & Fizzy Spiders are 99p.
Compare Sainsbury’s, Asda and Morrisons. Sainsbury’s has 22 mini Haribo bags for £2 with Nectar, Asda has 40 Haribo mini bags for £4, while Morrisons has a 330g Swizzels Trick or Treat Lolly Mix for £2.50 with More Card.
This is where the discount stores become particularly interesting. Home Bargains’ £3.99 Haribo Megastar doesn’t depend on a supermarket loyalty scheme, while Poundstretcher has several 99p sweet lines listed – although availability needs checking.
The biggest Halloween shopping mistake is comparing the ticket price rather than the amount of sweets you’re actually getting.
A £1 bag can look like a bargain, but if it contains only 100g, a £3.99 bag containing 800g may actually be considerably cheaper.
Check the price per 100g for big bags and the price per individual portion if you’re buying for trick-or-treaters.
The same rule is useful beyond Halloween. If you’re trying to cut the overall food shop, see our latest UK supermarket price comparison, which compares several independent supermarket studies rather than assuming one shop is cheapest for everything.
We’ve also looked specifically at what happens when shoppers compare supermarket prices over time. Short-term promotions and loyalty discounts can mean a bigger supermarket occasionally beats a discounter on particular branded products.
One theme jumps out from this year’s Halloween deals: many of the best supermarket prices require a loyalty card.
For this comparison, MoneyMagpie checked Halloween and suitable trick-or-treat confectionery available from major UK supermarkets and discount retailers on 6 October 2026.
Where pack weights were available, we calculated the price per 100g so that differently sized packets could be compared more fairly. Where products were sold as individual mini bags, we also considered the approximate cost per portion.
We have identified loyalty-card prices separately because they aren’t available to every shopper automatically. Seasonal products can also disappear or change price quickly, so this comparison is a snapshot rather than a guarantee of the price you’ll find later in October.
For the biggest bag of branded sweets, we’d currently check Home Bargains first.
Its £3.99 Haribo Megastar 800g is currently the best value by weight we’ve verified, at 49.88p per 100g.
For Halloween-specific sweets, Aldi is a strong contender, particularly its £3.69 600g Halloween Sweet Tub and 99p themed bags.
For individually portioned treats, compare Sainsbury’s, Asda and Morrisons, particularly if you already have their loyalty cards.
And don’t overlook Poundstretcher: its 99p Halloween and branded sweet lines are exactly the kind of discount-store bargains worth checking, but availability can be patchy.
The cheapest strategy may actually be to split your shop: buy your biggest branded bags from Home Bargains, pick up Halloween-specific sweets from Aldi or another discount retailer, and use supermarket loyalty-card deals for individually wrapped treats.
After all, there’s no rule saying the Halloween bowl has to come from one shop.
Halloween sweets are only one part of the shop. See which supermarket is coming out cheapest across broader UK grocery comparisons.
In our price check on 6 October 2026, Home Bargains had the cheapest big branded bag by weight among the products we compared. Its 800g Haribo Megastar cost £3.99, equivalent to 49.88p per 100g.
Yes. Aldi’s 600g Halloween Sweet Tub was £3.69 when checked, while several smaller themed products were available for 99p. This makes Aldi particularly competitive if you want sweets that actually have a Halloween theme.
Some are. The 800g Haribo Starmix Megabox was £4.50 with Clubcard compared with £5 at the standard price when checked. Always compare the loyalty price with other retailers rather than assuming the promotional price is automatically cheapest.
Large bags can offer the lowest price by weight, but individually portioned multipacks may be easier if you expect lots of callers. Sainsbury’s had 22 Haribo mini bags for £2 with Nectar, while Asda had 40 Haribo mini bags for £4 when checked.
For large sharing bags, price per 100g is usually the fairest comparison because pack sizes vary significantly. For individually wrapped trick-or-treat sweets, price per mini bag or portion can be more useful.
