There are so many incredible holiday deals out there, but it can often be a challenge finding them. Luckily there are tons of travel deal websites who scour the web and find the best ones, so you don’t have to.
Whether you’re looking for cheap flights, hotels, or package holidays, we’ve listed the best options below.
We’re not going to talk about all that air-miles business, because what we think counts the most are those one off deals that can catapult you to the other side of the world for next to no money. Here are the best places to find super, super cheap flight deals.
Secret Flying specializes in error fares and the kind of deals that you have to book within a day or two of them becoming available. Air lines release a lot cheap seats and Secret Flying always keeps you up to date. Some flights we found on here: Prague to Australia for €154 one-way, a round-the-world ticket for £781, and London to Costa Rica for £239 return.
So, don’t be fooled, you won’t be flying for free. But you will be flying for very, very little. This website works a lot like Secret Flying. In fact they both often have identical deals. Just pop in your departure location and you’ll see loads of super options. Some examples: Cardiff to Mayotte (google it…) for £470 return, Dublin-Canada-London for £84!
Scott’s Cheap Flights one is a super handy newsletter subscription. It’s free to get 1-2 deals a week, and costs a bit of money to be informed of all the deals. Again, Scott and his team find you great last minute deals and specialize in weekend city breaks for premium members. Some examples: London-Kathmandu returns for £356, Birmingham-Madagascar returns for £441.
Just go to Skyscanner.com, put your local airport in the ‘from’ box and in the ‘to’ box put ‘everywhere’. Just see what offers are around for the dates you want to leave,. If you’re open to suggestions this can be a really fun way to find a cheap flight to ‘anywhere’. Looking for a round-trip from London from 22 November to 2nd December the flights started at £23 to Norway.
Finding a good hotel on the cheap can be a challenge, but these websites make it really manageable. Little tip: the two websites above, Secret Flying and Fly4Free, also do great hotel deals, especially when they spot an error fare.
Okay, so this little app isn’t perfect if you’re on a budget, but it will get you a luxury hotel for a fraction of the price. It works best if you book on the day you want the room and there are always loads of options, especially if you’re in a well-frequented city. Depending on your location, you can easily find a room for 2 at a 4-5 star hotel for £80-ish.
This is still the absolute best option for finding a great accommodation for little money. Here at Money Magpie we frequently use this when booking travel for our remote workers. Especially if you’re going somewhere in off-season, you will find incredible deals. The great thing about this website is that it features hostels, apartments and even luxury hotels, so pretty much all areas are covered. It’s almost impossible to not find a bargain on here if you book far enough in advance.
Sometimes you can find the best deal if you book flights and accommodation together, it also makes the whole process extremely simple…
This website has a constantly updated list of the 20 hottest holiday deals from across the internet. They scour across a wide range of holiday providers and honestly track down some insane bargains. Some examples: £289pp – Tuscany: 5-star rural Hilton escape inc flights, £399pp – 5-star Madeira escape with dine-around meals & spa. Great for couples in particular!
BA’s last minute section offers some outstanding packages. They specialize particularly in European city breaks and beach getaways and if you are comfortable with committing to a trip at short notice, this will be a great option for you. Some examples: Flights and a 3 night stay in a top hotel in New York for £689, Dalaman flights + 7 nights hotel for £390.
This website offers some truly awesome bargains. It’s similar to TravelZoo in many ways but arguably has even more savings to offer. Some examples: 7 nights in Morocco, with breakfast, 4* hotel and flights for £212, 10 nights in Thailand with flights and hotel for £556.
To get the most out of all these deals you have to be flexible and willing to adjust your schedule, but the benefits (and savings) can be astronomical. So get booking!
