Showersaint (or Ecosplash) – is this a scam?

Jasmine Birtles 5th Nov 2011 130 Comments

Reading Time: < 1 minute

I’ve just had a card posted through the door apparently from a company called Shower Saint (www.showersaint.com – they say).

They also say they used be called EcoSplash.

This card says that I have requested an ‘Ecosplash’ (from the diagram, apparently some device you attach to your shower – not sure what it does). I never requested one.

I have never heard of Ecosplash. I have never heard of Shower Saint either.

The card tells me that if I want to cancel it I ring 0800 644 5100 (dead number when I called) or email [email protected] (didn’t bother emailing as it looks dodgy to me).

The website is ‘under construction’ but says this device is free. Maybe it is but a) I have never asked for it, b) I have never heard of them c)the phone number doesn’t work d) could it be a scam to get people’s email addresses? I’m going to let my local Trading Standards people look at this.

There’s something very wrong somewhere. Maybe it’s a scam or it’s the most incompetent business I’ve seen in a while!

I can’t believe money is being wasted on this thing, because it is a waste, 1)the global warming thing is just propaganda to slow down developing countries(stop them using energy) and a cover for the weather weapon currently in use(chemtrails: I have seen them in action in late 2010(big military jets 3 side by side at a time leaving thick trails that last all day and grow into clouds and rain), they saturate the sky with small particles, so to drop moisture out of the air and change the air pressure systems resulting in differing weather patterns, if you drop… Read more »

It makes a great little weapon, just throw it at somebodys head and the impact does the rest.
It’s the perfect weight to break a nose, bust a lip, smash teeth or crack a scull.

Thanks Shower Saint, your the best.

This sick plot thickens, today, I received an email from these harassment company asking if Im enjoying their product. Im getting more and more angry. Just to warn everyone that has received the card, then the pracel, they will prob then receive emails in the next weeks. As for the latest lady who asks if trading standards are acting, the answer, unfortunately is they are not. I have advised them via consumer direct but was told although they are well aware that lots of people have had this happen, phoney cards saying that they had ordered a product, then receiving… Read more »

I have recieved a card. Thought it was strange. Glad I felt suspicious and looked at this website. It’s nearly Christmas I don’t have the time to bother to respond to this card. I think it’s disgraceful, and shouldn’t be allowed to continue. Who is doing anything about this? Are trading standards acting??

This actually terrified me.

I suffer from anxiety and knowing there were people out there with my address trying to trick me was driving me insane, not to mention my worry I was losing my mind after not remembering any sort of request for it.

So happy I found this, no way in hell am I going to contact them.

If I’m this anxious over it, what about poor elderly people suffering from dementia or similar mind-affecting illnesses? The people sending these out are sick.

You are absoloutley right there. My mam has schizophrenia, quite recently she had ect treatment and is on huge amounts of quite heavy medication and tranquillisers, Im only a few doors away but these kind of calling cards and products being delivered, disrupt her and worry her very much. This company has no concern for human kind so why should it be concerned with the environment? kind of funny that, if it wasnt so sick.

Warning, get a cup of tea! I think you’ll find the scam here is on society as a whole, not the individuals receiving the postcards. This is what I think could be going on but please make up your own mind. Basically, the energy companies are obliged to show to the government that they have spent money on energy saving/carbon reduction schemes – I guess so that the UK can claim the carbon reductions against our international commitments – Kyoto agreement and all that. If you remember, the energy companies started sending out free compact fluorescent light bulbs to everyone… Read more »
