Money Giveaway: The cost of living crisis is really getting people down now. With a record number of people taking on second jobs and people frantically googling ‘quick ways to make cash’, we at MoneyMagpie have again decided to put our hand in our pocket and offer some help to readers.
Last year we offered you all a chance to get your hands on a no strings attached free £5 and over 300 of you entered.
Therefore we are again offering 20 readers £5. There are no strings attached at all. Simply comment on the article with what you would spend the fiver on, and then in two weeks, 20 people will be selected to win the money.
MoneyMagpie founder Jasmine Birtles says: ‘It really doesn’t feel much in the greater scheme of things, but if it helps a few people then we are more than happy to step in. We have had a record number of people writing in and asking us how to access quick cash, and in reality there aren’t many ways that are safe to the consumer. Therefore we just wanted to offer them a chance. We are strongly against gambling so didn’t want our readers to go there, therefore it’s simply cash.’
So, as stated above, for your chance to get your hands on a fiver, just answer ‘what would you spend an extra fiver on this month?’ in the comments below. The comments will close at midnight on August 1, 2023.
We will notify the winners on August 2, 2023.
Good luck. We look forward to hearing your answers.
Having an extra £5 note, I would buy a bundle of yarn and gather my neighbours together to do some crochet and knitting project. Just to keep everyone (young and old) in a positive mindset. Doing creative things with your hands can help to boost self-esteem.
That my husband to a drink out as he’s been a bit down recently.
I would buy some stamps, then write a few letters to friends I’ve lost touch with
I have been diagnosed with heart failure since April and am getting worse and worse. I can only walk 5 yards and am so out of breath all the time. My husband of 49 years has been wonderful and I would love to give him the £5 so he could treat himself to some lovely chocolates please.
I will use it to buy fuel to be honest or even treat myself to lunch
I would treat me and my daughter to some pick & mix to share, and some treats for my lovely cat Lottie. They both cheer me up when I’m having a bad day.
I think I would treat my grandson to a MacDonalds.
I would buy some fabric to make tops. It would enable me to enjoy my sewing hobby whilst also making something useful that I could wear. A win, win situation.
If I had an extra fiver I would spend it on my sewing hobby and put it towards some nice threads to upcycle some items.
I would buy my mum a little treat, to thank her for everything she does.
