Money Giveaway: The cost of living crisis is really getting people down now. With a record number of people taking on second jobs and people frantically googling ‘quick ways to make cash’, we at MoneyMagpie have again decided to put our hand in our pocket and offer some help to readers.
Last year we offered you all a chance to get your hands on a no strings attached free £5 and over 300 of you entered.
Therefore we are again offering 20 readers £5. There are no strings attached at all. Simply comment on the article with what you would spend the fiver on, and then in two weeks, 20 people will be selected to win the money.
MoneyMagpie founder Jasmine Birtles says: ‘It really doesn’t feel much in the greater scheme of things, but if it helps a few people then we are more than happy to step in. We have had a record number of people writing in and asking us how to access quick cash, and in reality there aren’t many ways that are safe to the consumer. Therefore we just wanted to offer them a chance. We are strongly against gambling so didn’t want our readers to go there, therefore it’s simply cash.’
So, as stated above, for your chance to get your hands on a fiver, just answer ‘what would you spend an extra fiver on this month?’ in the comments below. The comments will close at midnight on August 1, 2023.
We will notify the winners on August 2, 2023.
Good luck. We look forward to hearing your answers.
I would buy some silicone cupcake cases for my three year old to make mud cakes so we can actually make the most of summer holidays in all of this rain!
Assisted a 75 year old man today who’d fallen off his bike. My husband administered first aid before the ambulance arrived. I then inadvertently gave my husband’s cycling gloves to the ambulance crew believing they belonged to the elderly cyclist as he’d put them on the ground whilst helping the man. Oops – will put the £5 towards a new pair of cycling gloves for my ‘good Samaritan’ husband.
I would put it towards things for the new house we’re hoping to move to in August
I would use it to buy food for the food bank.
Bread flour to make my own.
I would buy some seeds to grow some veg for us.
I would use it for my partner’s birthday cake.
Food – I’m off work sick and only in receipt of SSP which doesnt cover my bills
Having an extra £5 note, I would buy a bundle of yarn and gather my neighbours together to do some crochet and knitting project. Just to keep everyone (young and old) in a positive mindset. Doing creative things with your hands can help to boost self-esteem.
I would buy some fancy cakes to have with my best pal over a cup of tea. We are both carers.
