Typical – another increase and yet the services are worse than ever.

i did a few years ago and it was really handy. However, I now find that you have to pass a test to get in and the last time I tried (a few years ago) I failed! It is a really good thing to do if you can get in, though, as you get all sorts of freebies. I used it as a way to go out to eat for free. It was good for me too as I have opinions about everything so with mystery shopping I could tell them what I thought as well as getting paid!

It always feels like there’s so many barriers for these sort of things!

I’ll be surprised if the air fryer doesn’t turn out to be a short-lived fad!

The wife and I are having a quiet one this year. Kids are busy with their families so it’ll be the first one just her and I. Honestly…it’s gonna be heaven!

I won’t be watching for obvious reasons… human rights trump football for me I’m afraid.

Oh for goodness sake, can’t we just let sport be sport? When these players start mouthing off I do feel like saying ‘shut up and just do what you’re paid to do.’

We all care about human rights, but somehow I don’t think the English football team is going to change their ways!!!

Oh yeah, because rent prices won’t go up, I’m sure…..

Difference is, it’s not really the same kind of commitment. Once you come to the end of the contract you can get out of there. With a house you’ve paid a massive upfront deposit which you now stand to lose – home repossession is a nasty business!

We’ve got to balance the books somehow. We’ve had furlough, the economy has been destroyed by lockdown. We can’t just keep spending.

I hope it works out for you, Paul.

For years people have been moaning about banks having too high a threshold for mortgages and saying if someone can pay higher rent, then why can’t they pay a lower mortgage.

Well, I think this is the wake-up call. When interest rates go up it’s a different ball-game. Suddenly renting don’t seem so bad anymore.

It’s company time. End of. It’s an insult to the company you work for

Knowing HR these days you’ll probably get a slap on the wrist, but as a former employer, you won’t get sympathy from me if they throw the book at you

I’m also supposed to go on holiday to Turkey for two weeks from the 25th of August all inclusive. I want to postpone it and I’ve tried to get hold of the holiday company for the last six weeks – tried email, live chat, phone and no one answers. I went to my credit card company because I had heard rumours that if you don’t get the same holiday that you’ve booked, no buffets etc. then you can get a refund. They said they couldn’t refund unless the holiday was cancelled. What can I do? Anyone any ideas?
