Following on from last month’s readers’ stories from Lisette and Helen, this month we’d like to introduce you to Sharon from Lincolnshire who has a really easy way to save a bit of money every day.
Sharon checks her bank account each day, then rounds the balance down to the nearest £10 and moves the difference into a separate savings account.
It can sound a little complicated at first but think about it like this:
Monday, the balance of your account is £205.54. Rounding down to the nearest £10 means rounding down to £200. The difference is £5.54 which you move into a separate savings account.
Tuesday, the balance of your account is £183.89. Rounding down to the nearest £10 means rounding down to £180. The difference is £3.89 which you move into a separate savings account.
Wednesday, the balance of your account is £167.03. Rounding down to the nearest £10 means rounding down to £160. The difference is £7.03 which you move into a separate savings account.
